Queensland – Whitsundays

If you’re a couple that enjoys warm sand between your toes, overlooking the sparkling blue ocean scattered with unique islands, then this could be a good spot. You can choose from four out of the 74 exotic islands for a resort that suits your preferences; these include Daydream Island, Hamilton Island, Hayman Island or Long Island. For a more intimate vacation, Hamilton Island offers an adult-only resort. If all that, ahem, bareboating isn’t enough, check there’s also skydiving and jet skiing available.

Taiwan – Hot Springs

For the couples who prefer lush green scenery in addition to relaxing in natural hot springs to melt away any stress, Taiwan fits the bill. With a variety of springs including hot springs, cold springs, mud springs and sea bed hot springs, temperatures range from a soothing 45ºC and usually contain beneficial minerals – a great respite after a day’s adventure in nearby mountains. A number of exclusive hot springs resorts at Beitou, Yangmingshan, Wulai, or Jiaosi offer rooms with private hot spring tubs.

Portugal – Tavira 

Couples who appreciate culture and a tipple will appreciate Portugal’s romantic town of Tavira. Take a stroll through the ancient castle, which provides a picturesque view over the town and its scenic surroundings. Explore the many churches and chapels that are intertwined by narrow, vintage cobblestone walkways, which lead to beautiful open squares. End the day by crossing the 7-arch Roman bridge overlooking the lake. Relax and unwind at the beautiful Pousada Convento and enjoy a drink by the courtyard.
